$5 Friday -- Death Head Buttons

While we rely on the many manufacturers buttons today, for centuries buttons were made by hand from a variety of materials. Included were thread wrapped buttons. In the 18th and 19th century, one style of thread wrapped buttons was very popular. The death head button, or leek button as it was also called, adorned many a fancy waistcoat. Today we've adapted these buttons into a variety of colorful styles and they can be the final unique touch for your homemade items. Come make buttons with us.

$5 Fridays are casual drop in workshops designed to introduce you to the basics of various heritage crafts. Preregistration is not required. Just show up with $5 and you're in until we run out of room at the table.
