Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, proudly presents Desde la Raíz, an event that showcases our beloved children's and youth programs, Tonatitos.
Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, was founded in 1992 in Salinas, California. Directed by Dr. Ramón Silva Ruelas, Tonatiuh is committed to promoting cultural appreciation and awareness through dance.
Tonatiuh’s children's program, better known as Tonatitos, was established in 1994 with the goal of strengthening children's connections to their culture, heritage, and community. Currently, there are two Tonatitos groups at each of 14 schools in the Salinas Valley. Recently, the program was expanded to include youth from two middle schools, with the goal of expanding to more schools.
Come to our third annual festival featuring Tonatiuh, Tonatitos, and Tonateens. Join us for an evening full of music, fun, and dance while supporting the Tonatitos program.

Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, orgullosamente presenta Desde la Raíz, un evento que destaca nuestro querido programa infantil y juvenil, Tonatitos.
Tonatiuh, Danzantes del Quinto Sol, fue fundado en 1992 en Salinas, California. Dirigido por el Dr. Ramón Silva Ruelas, Tonatiuh se enfoca en promover el aprecio y la conciencia cultural a través de la danza.
El programa infantil de Tonatiuh, mejor conocido como Tonatitos, se estableció en 1994 con el objetivo de fortalecer las conexiones de los niños con su cultura, su herencia y su comunidad. Actualmente, hay dos grupos de Tonatitos en cada una de 14 escuelas del Valle de Salinas. Recientemente, el programa se expandió para incluir jóvenes de las escuelas secundarias, con la meta de que el programa siga creciendo.
