We are excited to announce our next Roanoke Valley Support Group Meeting (Educational) with a very important guest speaker:
Rebecca Parsio, RN, BSN
Healthcare Compliance Officer – Driver Services Administration
Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles
Rebecca will provide an overview of the DMV review process, explain the “red flags” that may impact driving privileges for individuals living with MS, and answer your questions in a dedicated Q&A session.
Recently, we’ve learned that people with MS are being reviewed more frequently by the DMV. This meeting is your opportunity to:
- Understand how the DMV review process works
- Learn what to do if you receive a review notice
- Hear directly from the person who evaluates the forms submitted
- Gain insight into how to protect your driving rights
- Raise awareness about MS by sharing our experiences
Anyone can file a report if they believe someone’s driving is unsafe. If the report is validated, the DMV will require proof that you can continue driving safely. This makes it especially important for us to be informed and prepared.
