Soak up the beauty of winter at the second-annual Winter Play Day!
Admission is FREE; please register so we can let you know about weather changes (and plan for supplies and treats!)
Enjoy a variety of activities, including:
- Guided hikes with the National Park Service (Mississippi National River and Recreation Area)
- S’mores along the Mississippi River with Mississippi Park Connection
- Snowshoeing with Wilderness Inquiry
- The Winter Sound Garden hosted by Wavelets Creative, with live performances by Blue Lady and the Mni Choir, and storytelling around the bonfires.
- Birding with Urban Bird Collective
- Traditional winter games with Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi
- Special appearance by Smokey Bear and the U.S. Forest Service
- Learn more about the future Mississippi River Learning Center from the design team
Available activities may depend on weather, snow, and ice conditions.
Crosby Farm Regional Park in Saint Paul will soon become home to the Mississippi River Learning Center — a national hub for Mississippi River-focused recreation, education, and environmental stewardship. Winter Play Day will highlight the site’s potential, showcase seasonal activities for the future, and create an inviting space for everyone to enjoy.
