A full-length, adapted version of the Broadway musical for young performers, ages 19 and younger, that reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a jazz-infused, industrial underworld. The story follows Orpheus's journey to rescue Eurydice from Hades, the ruler of the underworld, while exploring themes of love, hope, and the consequences of choices.

Audition Workshop:
Our usual audition workshop will take place during Broadway Boot Camp (June 16-20) the week prior to auditions. Attendance does not influence casting, but can assist you in being better prepared.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: Orpheus: A romantic poet and musician, Orpheus believes in the transformative power of his music. He is kind, naive, and driven by his love for Eurydice. He's a tenor with strong falsetto.
Eurydice: A resilient young woman, Eurydice is pragmatic and shaped by hardship. She's vulnerable and distrustful, but her love for Orpheus is strong. She is a Mezzo-Soprano
Hades: The King of the Underworld, Hades is a compulsive industrialist and Persephone's husband. He is powerful but also vulnerable, particularly in his relationship with his wife. He's a Bass.
Persephone: The Queen of nature and the seasons, Persephone is disenchanted with her life with Hades and seeks to escape the confines of her marriage. She is a Mezzo-Soprano/Alto.
Hermes: The charismatic guide and storyteller, Hermes acts as a mentor to Orpheus, guiding him on his journey. He's a Tenor/Bass.
The Fates: Three divine sisters who decide the fate of mortals. They sing in the background, commenting on the characters' choices and pushing the story forward. They are Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, and Alto.
Workers: Represent the spirits of labor and community, they are a physical and choral presence in Hadestown.
The Muses: While not explicitly named in the character breakdown, the Muses are important to the story as Orpheus's mother and Hermes' friend.
Gods: Gods like Apollo and others play a role in the background of the story.
