FAQs:
Q: Can I buy tickets at the door?
A: Tickets will not be sold at the door. Please buy them online in advance or at the studio during office hours (Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).
Q: What show is my dancer in?
A: All recreational and competitive dancers are in both shows. The shows will follow an identical order of routines on May 31 and June 1.
Q: Does my child perform if they are in Acro only?
A: Our Acro students do not take part in the recital. On Saturday May 24 (mini & beginner acro) and Tuesday May 27 (intermediate and advanced acro) family members are invited to come and observe the students’ skills they have been working on this season during their regular class time.
Q: Is there a dress rehearsal?
A: Yes! Dress rehearsal will take place May 25 at Harbour View High School. Please see the files on your portal for a schedule. Parents may watch in the audience, but please note there is no food or drink allowed in the auditorium. Dancers are expected to stay for about one hour for their rehearsal.
Q: Is there an elevator at HVHS?
A: Yes- on the left side of the building.
Q: Where are the dancers’ dressing rooms?
A: Dressing rooms will be assigned by class. Dancers will be in the cafeteria and surrounding classrooms while they wait for their performance time.
Q: What should I send with my dancer?
A: Costume(s), shoes, hair/makeup items, entertainment (small toys, tablet, colouring), water bottle, non-messy snacks. Colouring pages and crayons will be available in the cafeteria for our younger dancers.
Q: When do I pick up my dancer after they performed?
A: Teeny & Tiny (age 4 and under) program dancers are to be picked up at intermission. All other dancers remain in their dressing rooms with their chaperones until the show is finished.
Q: Can my dancer sit with me in the audience after they perform?
A: If your dancer can sit with you on your lap, they don’t need a ticket to watch the remainder of the show. Please be cautious that your dancer doesn’t take someone’s paid seat.
Q: Can I take photos and videos during the show?
A: Yes- please make sure your flash is off. McKiel videos will be professionally recording the show to share with everyone afterwards.
Q: Does my dancer get to keep their costume after the show?
A: Yes.
Q: Are classes done after the show?
A: Yes.
