This year’s summer member’s meeting will be held at the “Rock Garden” in St. Helen, Michigan scramble area.
We will start the day meeting at the rock garden, spend some time socializing and some general policing / clean up of the area. We likely will be doing some brushing and signage as well.
As lunch time approaches we will gather back at the rocks for a grilled lunch that may include locally harvested venison and pork burgers. Feel free to bring any sides or deserts your heart may desire to share, but basic condiments and sides will be provided.
After lunch and socializing winds down we will have our semi-annual members meeting. Non members are welcome to attend but will not be able to make motions or vote should the need arise.
While the agenda will continue to evolve as we get closer, 2 things top on the list to discuss are follow up from last year’s passed motion to get a legal opinion on the event permit process. We have been acting on that and look forward to sharing the findings so far and status of that. Another topic is the current additional Route Proposal we have submitted and a 2nd one that is currently in the works and may actually be formally submitted by the time of this event.
After the meeting we welcome play time if that is your preference or join Craig Pinkelman and a few others doing some detailed mapping and concepts of the structure and course of the newest Route proposal to be submitted to supplement a proposal we also have in for restoration and upgrade of the rocks.
Later in the evening, those who are spending the night close by are welcome to join some of us that will be having a campfire at one of our board member’s private properties know as Carnivore Cove about 7 miles north of the scramble area secluded in the woods with access via the new Route proposal and forest roads.
