Join us for an immersive weekend with Wade Oakley, where philosophy meets practice in an exploration of Ashtanga Yoga and beyond. This workshop dives into the deeper "why" behind our practice, weaving insights from the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras into modern movement.
Over multiple sessions, you’ll experience the Ashtanga primary series, explore the foundational principles of breath, bandha, and drishti, and discover how these elements shape a sustainable, evolving practice. Through Mysore-style sessions, structured workshops, and guided discussions, Wade will help you refine your approach—both on and off the mat.
We'll also challenge conventional ideas about strength, flexibility, and longevity in practice. How do we honor tradition while making space for individuality and growth? Expect movement, breathwork, drills, and a fresh perspective to empower you as your own teacher.
This weekend is open to all levels—whether you're a seasoned Ashtanga practitioner or new to the method, come ready to explore, question, and deepen your connection to practice.

Friday 9/12 6:30pm - 8pm Philosophy Talk + Q&A: The Body as a Vehicle
1% theory can act as a multiplier on 99% practice! So what does yoga philosophy have to say about asana practice in modern life? What about other movement and activity? In this talk, Wade will share some of his personal journey as it relates to ideas from traditional yogic texts, including the Gita and Yoga Sutras.
Saturday 9/13 8am - 10am Led Primary + Conference: Experience the traditional Ashtanga Yoga primary series and its collective energetic arc together as we practice in relative unison through the precise vinyasas of primary. We’ll conclude with a brief conference.
Saturday 9/13 12pm - 2pm Workshop 1 : The Method n the workshop, we’ll break down the components that make up the scaffolding of our Ashtanga yoga system: breath, bandha, drishti. How can these tools turn attention inwards, leave space for exploration, help us learn from the body, and help us build practices that in turn support the lives we want to lead? Be prepared for breathing exercises, discussion, and light movement. Whether you’re new to the practice or have been getting on your mat for decades, a check-in with the “why” behind this method can feel like a breath of fresh air.
Sunday 9/14 7am - 10am Mysore : Practice Ashtanga yoga with Wade in the traditional Mysore-style, named for the city in India where this method has been developed and taught for generations with individualized instruction.
Sunday 12pm - 2pm Workshop 2: The Madness : So now that we know the rules, how do we break them - skillfully? In this session, we’ll cultivate outside-the-mat/box thinking with an overarching goal of empowering you as a student to be your own teacher. As an example, we’ll challenge some preconceived notions about the roles of strength and flexibility in Ashtanga yoga with a focus on bandhas in back bending. We’ll tie this into a broader discussion of longevity in practice, including injury prevention (“prehab”), recovery off the mat, and the cultivation of gentle self-discipline. Be prepared for movement, asanas, and drills during this session, which will be accessible and open to all levels of practitioners.
Don’t miss out on our exclusive early bird special available through April 30th!
