Matuku-hūrepo - Love Bittern Workshop - FREE

Matuku-hūrepo - Australasian bittern workshop.
Threatened, Nationally Critical, Native to New Zealand, these incredible birds can be viewed off Long Bridge at Taumarere!

We have invited Love Bittern's Wendy Ambury to come and share her knowledge with us and our community.
Monday 4th August 9:00am-1:00pm
All welcome - Registration required.

Workshop includes:
Bittern Basics
Bittern Monitoring
Habitat for hūrepo

We will also visit the wetland habitat and some of our Keteriki-Bay of Islands Vintage Railway track crew and Bay Bush Action volunteers will be with us to talk about their trapping programme across the corridor Kawakawa to Opua.
We will also discuss fencing, planting and other habitat protection mechanisms.
We hope that together we can all do a part to protect and enhance the bio-diversity along the corridor and awa;
