In Loving Memory of Kent Wattinger
With heavy hearts, we invite all who knew and loved Kent Wattinger to join us in remembering and celebrating his extraordinary life.
Kent left this world on July 5, 2025, a victim of the devastating Texas Floods. In his final moments, he did what he always did best—he put others before himself. In an act of profound love and courage, Kent saved his beloved wife, Samantha “Sam” Wattinger, pushing her toward safety on the riverbank before being swept away. That was Kent—selfless, strong, and devoted to his family. Because of him, their children will grow up with their mother. His last breath was one of love.
Kent served as the ATX Chapter President and Safety Division President of the WTFrs – Wind Therapy Freedom Riders, a close-knit Social Riding Club that proudly supports Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Veterans. He and Sam led the Safety Division with unmatched dedication, always putting others’ wellbeing first—because that’s who they were, and still are, at their core.
We hope you’ll join us to honor Kent’s memory, share stories, shed tears, and smile through them all. His life was full of passion, purpose, and love—and now, it’s our turn to carry that spirit forward.

In Lieu of Flowers or Personal Donations:
Many have asked how they can support Sam and the kids. In honor of Kent’s legacy, Sam kindly requests that any donations be made in his name to the Williamson County Deputies Foundation. The WilCo Sheriff’s Office led the search and rescue for Kent with compassion and tireless dedication. Supporting this foundation not only honors Kent’s life, but also uplifts the heroes who tried so hard to bring him home.
