Psychedelic scifi cumbia and vallenato... The accordion master from Bogotá, Mau Gatiyo, is making his first visit to The Netherlands. Supported by Medellín's Dada Phone and Cinema Colombiano DJ's Mitze Apocalipze and Chucho Vinilo. This promises to be a hot autumn night in the red ship.
The event is organized together with the team of Cinema Colombiano as part of their ongoing INTERRUPCIÓN-series. INTERRUPCIÓN is dedicated to contemporary music from Latin America and its diaspora, with bands such as Los Pirañas, Karen y Los Remedios, Susobrino, Alex Figueira and Conjunto Media Luna visiting in the past. Cinema Colombiano organized a festive 10th edition of their annual film festival last September. Now, for the first time in their history, they're coming to Vessel 11 with this official afterparty!

Surrealist vallenato & psychedelic cumbia
Inspired by the accordion sounds of the 70's and 80's, and influenced by the tropical scene of Bogota, Mau Gatiyo makes futuristic vallenato, protest cumbia and tropical descarga to dance
to. All seasoned with lysergic samples and synthesizers and an accordion that doesn't ask for permission. Tropical, psychedelic and with a crooked smile. His second album SUPERPODERES was released last year to acclaim: "a delightfully wacky scifi epic", says Bandcamp Daily.

Dooombia-rhythms from Colombia
Dada Phone performs music that is entirely spontaneous. On this occasion live looping the rhythms of the Colombian Caribbean. He is also known as a member of the Dooombiamberos, responsible for the tropical gothic sound of the sinister trio. In 2024 he worked together with Brazilian sound wizard Kauê Werner on their adventurous Rio Vaupes-album.
