Judy Niemack is an esteemed American jazz vocalist, lyricist, and composer renowned for her warm, expressive tone and instrumental-level scat improvisation. She first emerged under the mentorship of tenor saxophonist Warne Marsh—her debut album By Heart was recorded in 1977 after she moved to New York City—and she has since recorded over a dozen albums with jazz luminaries such as Kenny Werner, Lee Konitz, Cedar Walton, and Jim McNeely. A pioneering educator, Niemack has taught jazz singing since the late 1970s, becoming in 1995 Germany’s first Professor of Vocal Jazz at the Jazz Institut Berlin, and she also co‑founded programs in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain while continuing to perform and lead masterclasses internationally.
Joris Teepe is a Dutch jazz bassist, composer, arranger, and bandleader who first moved from The Hague to New York City in 1992 and quickly established himself on the international jazz scene. Over the years, he has recorded over 20 albums as a leader and more than 60 as a sideman, collaborating with jazz legends such as Rashied Ali (with whom he toured for nearly a decade), Randy Brecker, Benny Golson, Cyrus Chestnut, and Don Braden. In addition to performing, Teepe serves as a respected educator—he directs the Jazz Studies program at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen and teaches bass at Queens College in New York.
Barry Green studied classical and jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he now serves as a professor of jazz piano, and since 2023 he also teaches at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. He has performed extensively across the UK—at venues like Ronnie Scott’s, The Wigmore Hall, the 606 Club—and at major European festivals in countries including France, Spain, Slovenia, Sweden, Norway, Croatia, Turkey and Italy, collaborating with artists such as Bobby Watson, Charles McPherson, Ingrid Laubrock, and Us3.
