In this opening session, Dr. David Odorisio explores foundational teachings from both Christian monasticism and Sufi mysticism:
• The “Eight Evil Thoughts” (logismoi) of Greek monastic thought
• The Sufi concept of the nafs (lower selves)
• Monastic therapy as a spiritual psychology
• The symbolic function of the heart in inner alchemy

This lecture lays the groundwork for Saturday’s deeper engagement — inviting us into the path of radical integration and awakening.
