Disaster Preparedness Workshop for Livestock

This training will help local livestock farmers and first responders prepare for and respond to basic emergency situations. Experts from the NC Department of Agriculture as well as Extension Agents from western NC will share their recommendations and experiences to help you develop a checklist for before and after a disaster. You will also hear some first hand accounts from Hurricane Helene last year. We will cover some of the basics of Incident Command Systems and allow time for farmers and first responders to discuss their priorities with each other.
