We are very grateful to welcome, Katie Cahill next FRIDAY, MAY 9th at 2PM for a free therapeutic mark-making workshop, Exploring Self Through Image. In this workshop, Katie will set up a safe space to explore how creating visual information can lead to better knowing our deeper selves.
We express ourselves in many ways, such as with the way we style our hair, the clothes we wear, and with the words we speak. But when we center ourselves on how the surface presents, we can miss valuable self-information that is literally available deep within our fingertips! Given a safe space, our bodies and minds want to tell us more, and one way to aid that translation is to let it come out in visual form.
For some, art can bring up performance anxiety or 'not good enough narratives', so for the sake of access, let's call it exploratory mark-making, where there is no wrong way to create.
