Get ready to cheer on world-class athletes as IRONMAN 70.3 Rockford-Illinois comes to life in the heart of downtown Rockford! While the race is sold out for participants, it's packed with incredible opportunities for spectators to catch the action and support the competitors along every leg of the course.
The event kicks off with a fast 1.2-mile swim in the Rock River, flowing north to south through downtown. Spectators will have great vantage points near the YMCA of Rock River Valley, where athletes begin their journey. For some of the best views of the swim course, plan to watch from the Whitman Street Bridge, Jefferson Street Bridge, or State Street Bridge โ all offering prime locations to see the athletes in action as they power through the water.
After the swim, competitors hit the 56-mile bike course that loops through scenic areas north of Rockford, including a stretch through downtown Rockton โ another great spot to catch the race up close.
The final leg is a 13.1-mile run, starting from Davis Park and looping twice along the east and west banks of the Rock River. With stunning river views, lush park greenways, and vibrant neighborhoods, thereโs no shortage of places to gather and cheer.
