Birdscaping Program & Hike

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧, 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞

Birding has become a very popular activity and creating a landscape that provides the best habitat for birds is a common goal. This program will discuss bird-friendly design that covers food, shelter and water. Discover which trees, shrubs, vines and herbaceous plants have been shown to provide premier nesting sites and an abundance of bird food through the insects they attract and the seeds and fruit they produce. You will gain a better understanding of how native plants are vital to bird habitats and what you can do to promote birds in your own landscape. After the presentation, the group will take a walk in the prairie with Alan to look for birds.
