First Friday w/ Joe Holt - featuring Matt Mielnick

This month's First Friday show will be a special one. Okay, they all are (if I can say that), but this one uniquely so. The Mainstay's-own Artistic Director, Matt Mielnick, will take center stage for a "First Friday" program that he has subtitled "All the Songs I Ever Wanted to Sing, But Never Had the Chance". An alternate title for Matt's show could be "All the Songs I Ever Wanted to Sing, but Never Had the Band". And we're gonna fix that. ;)
A great group, consisting of Dave Renz - sax, Bob Colligan - bass, and Larry Marshall - drums, will be joining me, and Matt, for his bucket list show. Don't miss this evening of great tunes, deep grooves, and feel good vibes.
One last (and personal) thing. Matt is responsible for the continuation of my opportunity to present unique and ongoing collaborative programming at the Mainstay (now in my 10th year); offering me a First Friday series immediately upon assuming his duties here 4 years ago. Matt's artistic and musical sensibilities run deep. And I couldn't be happier that he accepted the invitation to partner up for this show. I hope you can join us. It will be a great night.
