Spring Cleaning at the HOC

In preparation for the House of Compassion 40th Anniversary. The original House of Compassion opened its doors to the very first guest.

We are also preparing for Groundbreaking for the 840 expansion house! Big things are coming, in 2025!


Spring Cleaning at the HOC, May 9 & 10
Friday from noon-7PM come when your able stay as long as you can

Saturday 9AM -7PM again come when able stay as long as you can. We are asking people to sign up for some specific times to help us plan big items

What will we be doing?

Moving furniture out of the attic or basement to prepare for a yard sale

Cleaning windows inside both houses (tons of glass inside the 830 house and double pane widows) we will use a pressure washer on the outside windows not going up on huge ladders. And hand clean inside.

Clean out window ledges from winter debris

Replace all the screens on windows and doors (already removed for cleaning)

Clean cobwebs, corners, baseboards, carpets as needed

Rake all the yards and flower beds and trim bushes, mow lawns, edge, blow leaves etc. set up outdoor furniture and power wash sidewalks and the porch at the 840 house

Polish all the wood at the 830 house (wash with Murphy’s oil soap, then polish with lemon oil) there are a million ledges and decorative wood pieces. Clean all the wood floors.

Clean out the egress areas on both houses from debris and any uninvited vegetation.

Possibly some small painting projects
