We are thrilled to return to the beautiful sanctuary of Christ Church Rochester to perform a wonderful program of Bach and Graupner cantatas! There we will have the privilege of performing with the glorious Craighead-Saunders organ, one of the only extant examples of a full-size organ in the style of 18th-century Germany in the Western Hemisphere. The organ will be featured in Bach's dialogue cantata "Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen" (BWV 49), for soprano and bass, obbligato organ, violoncello piccolo, oboe d'amore, and strings. Also on the program will be two lovely cantatas by Christoph Graupner. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear 18th-century cantatas performed with a full-sized Baroque organ, as they would have been in Bach's time!
