Filmmaker and lifelong Star Trek: The Original Series fan Wyatt W**d gives an in-depth presentation on the development and production of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which underwent a complex evolution spanning the 1970s. Using photos, storyboards, and video clips, he will focus in particular on the troubled production of ST: TMP's extensive special effects, detailing how one company was removed from the film just months before release and the superhuman effort required to finish the movie on time.
