Join the Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) for a comedic and heartfelt celebration of the ups and downs of being a mom with our summer musical production of “Motherhood: The Musical,” by Sue Fabisch, August 15th-17th, at the Ripon High School Auditorium. Directed by long-time community member Pat Ellis, “Motherhood: The Musical” tells a story of motherhood through catchy songs, big laughs, and heartfelt moments that every parent will recognize.
As Amy, our main character, prepares for the birth of her first child, her group of mom friends throw her a surprise baby shower. While Amy obsesses over meticulous plans and stacks of parenting books, the other moms offer advice and a glimpse into the beautiful chaos that lies ahead; as they share their real-life messes, struggles, and the bittersweet process of watching your children grow up.
Performances start at 7 pm on August 15th and 16th, with doors opening at 6:30; and a 2 pm matinee on August 17th, with doors opening at 1:30. General admission for this performance is $10 for adults, $5 for children, and free for children 5 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door and from the courtesy counter at the Ripon Hy-Vee.

As a special treat for families, the RACT is holding a special pre-show ice cream social before our final performance on August 17th from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the Ripon High School Commons. Enjoy a frosty treat before seeing a stellar finale performance. Admission to the ice cream social is only $2 per person; while the ice cream lasts.
We will also be offering optional free childcare during our August 17th matinee performance for members of our audience; provided with the help of members of Girl Scout Troop 6045! Parents will be able to drop off their children to be supervised and then go relax and enjoy the performance. This is available to August 17th matinee ticketholders only.
