Saturday, June 7th 10am-12pm
Hay River KTC Buddhist Meditation Center
https://www.ktchayriver.org/
N14085 County Rd VV, Ridgeland, WI 54763
(Meet at UUC at 8:45am for carpooling or meet at the Meditation Center at 10am)
Take a gentle walk in ancient trees: mindful silence or with commentary. Connecting with nature helps stabilize the mind and encourages wellbeing. Lama Yeshe will share Buddhists teaching on interdependence, talk about the history of the land, environment, property and residents. There will be snacks and refreshments at the end of the walk, and time for fellowship and questions. All ages are welcome. There is no fee for this field trip, but donations are accepted by Hay River KTC.
Lama Tsultrim Yeshe (John Samuelson) is the resident Lama of the Hay River Karma Thegsum Choling, a small Buddhist retreat center by Ridgeland, WI. He was given the title “Lama,” or teacher, in 1996 upon completing a traditional Tibetan 3 year 3 month retreat at Karme Choling Retreat Center located in the Catskills of New York. He took monastic vows during the retreat. He was the first and only State of Wisconsin prison chaplain from the Buddhist tradition, working from 2003 to retirement in 2011.
