Join us at The Knot Club at Point San Pablo Harbor for a joyful blend of old-time, bluegrass, and folk vibes with two great Bay Area bands. The eveing will start at 6pm with a pre-show open acoustic jam where all are invited to sit in. The High Water Line and Bitchcraft Stringband will split the evening and get started at 7:30pm.
The High Water Line
Emerging from the music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area, these five talented musicians crossed paths in 2017 through the common thread of the Northern California bluegrass community. From their first meeting they knew the music they could create would be special, and in their eight years together they have continued to grow not only musically, but as close friends, adding their distinctive style to the ever evolving West Coast bluegrass sound.
While their music is steeped in the time-honored Northern California bluegrass tradition, The High Water Line is not afraid to break the rules and explore whatever music inspires them. They reach into the genres of country, soul, swing, and blues, creating clever arrangements and a unique sound that’s all their own.
Bitchcraft Stringband
Bitchcraft Stringband was brewed in a cauldron of friendship, bluegrass, and artistry in the hills of Marin County. They have conjured a powerful potion of groove and harmony grounded in a love of traditional music. Bitchcraft plays an eclectic mix of traditional bluegrass songs, spirited old-time tunes, and thoughtfully crafted original songs that draw inspiration from the past. With soaring vocals, driving rhythms, and tasteful melodic interplay, the band presents a playful intersection of modern feeling and traditional sound.
Bitchcraft’s style reflects the diverse influences and musical backgrounds of each member of the group. With inspiration from the likes of Hazel Dickens, Blue Rose, and Tatiana Hargreaves, the band brings a sound that is equally expressive and fiery. Bitchcraft includes Tonya Newstetter on guitar and vocals, Christine Wilhoyte on banjo and vocals, Ashley Readel on dobro, Jee-Hee Haar on fiddle and vocals, Amy Kassir on fiddle and vocals, and Sarah Jo Millar on bass and vocals.
Bitchcraft believes in music that supports community. For this reason, we donate a portion of money from every show to charity.
