First AVS Dallas May Meeting

"Setting Up a Spring Show"
This month's program will be a discussion and demonstration on how to set up a mini spring show, including the basics on judging. Club members are encouraged to bring two plants and/or exhibits to be judged. Plants must be healthy but do not have to be in bloom. AVSA judges will share their insight and advice for growing show quality plants. Eleven show classes will be available.

Classes for African Violet entries:
1. Standard plant; any color blossom, green foliage
2. Standard plant; any color blossom, variegated foliage
3. Semiminiature plant; any color blossom, green foliage
4. Semiminiature plant; any color blossom, variegated foliage
5. Miniature plant; any color blossom, any type foliage
6. Trailing plant; any color blossom, any type foliage, any size
7. Species; any color blossom, any type foliage, any size
Classes for other Gesneriads:
8. Fibrous-root gesneriads, in bloom or ornamental
9. All other gesneriads, in bloom or ornamental
Classes for Designs Using African Violets:
10. Plant or flower arrangement
11. Container garden (terrarium, dish garden, natural garden)
