STIRNIR KJARTANSSON & LINDY LIN
doors 19:30 / show 20:00
2.500kr / 2.000kr for students
When musicians Lindy Lin and Stirnir Kjartansson met in early 2024 they felt an immediate musical connection with each other that has evolved into a fruitful musical relationship. Since then they have played together a lot, whether it be in their free improvisation group "Wet Flute Trio" (with Tumi Árnason) or their noise rock quartet "Yang Soup." Recently, the duo has been hard at work on a new collaborative album focusing on an instinctive and spontaneous music making process. When the two of them blend their artistic approaches together you will be submerged in a playful, childlike “little big pond” where curiosity leads the way.
On this special night in Mengi, Stirnir and Lindy will showcase their collective project as well as their ongoing solo projects.
Lindy Lin is an electroacoustic composer and audiovisual experimentalist based in Reykjavík. Her practice blends cultural influences, natural soundscapes, and everyday objects to create immersive and surreal experiences. Check her website:

In this concert, she will perform as part of her collaborative project with Stirnir, and present her ongoing solo project, Mirror Stage, featuring original and unreleased works from her upcoming album — combining composed pieces and improvisations.
Örlygur Steinar Arnalds will join her on electronics and drums, adding dynamic textures to the performance. Learn more about Mirror Stage:

Stirnir Kjartansson is a composer and improviser from Reykjavík. When you listen to Stirnir’s music you can never predict what is going to happen next, and he also doesn’t want you to be able to. He tries to not stick to the same ideas for too long and is always looking for new ways to experiment and push his musical practice forward. In this concert he will do a rare solo performance showcasing his recent developments in guitar playing as well as premiering brand new songs from his long awaited next release following his acclaimed 2023 release “Apple Pie & <3 the Razor”.
