Standup: Ann Vaida – Almost Nordic | RVK Fringe 2025

Estonian comedian Ann Vaida is “Almost Nordic”, or is she really? In this standup hour, she searches for identity in a newly independent country still reaching for both roots and ambitions.

From childhood in the 90s in Estonia to figuring out what comes next, it has been an exciting and weird journey. We find out if Estonia is actually Nordic, what can queer life in Eastern Europe look like and how can anything have meaning anyway.

Ann even admits that some of her jokes are actually sad if you think about them for long enough, and she is proud of that.

The show received The Baltic Nordic Fringe Network Award in FinFringe Turku in May 2025.
