Shock Ballad

Open will host the finissage of the exhibition Föstudagurinn 31sti, titled Shock Ballad, curated by Pia Di Paola and LilaTesla.

Open’s house presents itself as a living architecture with which we want to create a moment of emotional interaction. We open the doors to the public for a collective reconstruction of the aura of this place marked by a sinister past so that drafts, shadows and dark presences are channeled into the flow of a powerful rebirth.

The event will begin at 5 PM, and all visitors are invited to bring a talisman to contribute to the making of an altar. The ritual will be an immersion into the sounds and female motifs of Icelandic folklore and will precede a collective reading session curated by Helga Dögg, founder of the queer and feminist bookstore Garg.
This will be followed by a performance by Lísandra Týra Jóns that will culminate with the start of LilaTesla’s intimate music set with deconstructed electronics and melancholy ambient.
Knackered is the last artist performing with a dance mood that will rock the house.
