Styrktaraðilar sýningarinnar er the Danish Arts Foundation.

The National Gallery of Iceland warmly invites you to an artist talk and reception honoring Inuk Silis Hoegh marking the Icelandic premiere of The Green Land, a video installation by Greenlandic artist and filmmaker Inuk Silis Høegh, on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
The Green Land (2021) is a 34-minute land art film installation that offers a profound meditation on Greenland’s landscapes amidst the pressing challenges of climate change and geopolitical shifts. Set in and around Nuuk and Maniitsoq, the film introduces the classical elements—earth, air, fire, and water—into the environment through ephemeral, non-toxic interventions. A surreal green presence weaves through the narrative, symbolizing the evolving identity and resilience of Greenland.
The immersive soundscape, composed by Jacob Kirkegaard, a Danish sound artist, integrates field recordings from the sea, ice, volcanic earth, and atmosphere, enhancing the sensory experience of the film.
Rare Earth - A conversation with Inuk Silis Høegh and Jacob Kirkegaard. The discussion will be in English and led by Pari Stave, Chief Curator at the National Gallery of Iceland, and will delve into the artists' creative process, the film’s production, and Greenland’s unique geological and geopolitical context. We recommend arriving before the talk begins in order to have time to view the artwork.
We look forward to welcoming you, your friends and your colleagues to this significant cultural event.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Danish Arts Foundation.
