Music Making in Retford between 1896 and 1929

Following our AGM. beginning at about 7.30pm, come and hear Angela Anwyl talk about Music Making in Retford between 1896 and 1929. Angela, who has published two books on the subject, will feature pianist Muriel Spencer; organist / choirmaster / conductor and teacher Hamilton White and music shop owner Walter Parke amongst others. Her talk will also include the early years of the North Nottinghamshire Musical Competitions. Angela will also show a few photographs from the Welchman Collection and talk about how the resources of Bassetlaw Museum have enhanced her research.
