Learn about avian diversity in Nevada with biologist Ned Bohman (Great Basin Bird Observatory) at The Glass Die on Saturday, May 4 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. At this Humanities at Play in-person event, Bohman will first share insights about general bird diversity in Nevada and his work with Great Basin Bird Observatory before attendees play the board game Wingspan (Stonemaier Games, 2019).
Wingspan is a competitive, medium-weight, card-driven, engine-building board game from designer Elizabeth Hargrave and Stonemaier Games. It is the 2019 winner of the prestigious Kennerspiel des Jahres award. Players play as bird enthusiasts—researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors—seeking to discover and attract the best birds to their network of wildlife preserves.
This is a free event. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Please note that The Glass Die is a 21+ establishment. Individuals under the age of 21 will not be able to attend.
