Join Rachael from The Spirit of Ray for this beginner-friendly workshop where you'll honor your roots by crafting a family tree with pressed foliage. Through quiet reflection, we'll anchor into our roots and together, we'll settle into stillness, and explore our lineage through meditative art-making.
A Family Tree is a collage representation of your ancestry and the relationship between family members. Each stem, leaf, or flowering of the tree symbolizes a family member and how you are related to them.
Please bring multiple copies of each photo of your family members as we will be cutting them down to size - Bringing multiple prints of each image is encourage to give yourself room for cutting mistakes.
These two hours of intentional making is perfect for anyone seeking a softer pace, connection to community, and meaningful creations. After our journey together, making copies of your art to give as holiday gifts is a sacred and generous act of sharing your inner light.
Rachael Rantz is a mindful creator, end of life doula, and author of Bones and The Bereaved (coming soon), A creative portal for leaning into the heaviness of grief deep inside our bones. For the past four years Rachael was a caregiver to her husband, Brian who recently passed in April. Bearing witness to each others vulnerability, grief, and presence opened the door for creativity to flow inside their death nest. Rachael birthed this book alongside her love as a way to prepare for the labor of death. Her hopes is to ignite a flame of healing creative light in others’ journeys through the end of life process, grief, and mourning.
