Individual Voice Lindy Hop Workshop: Style, Flow, Musicality

Join Peter and Lauren for an exploration of personal expression and individual style in Lindy Hop. This three-hour workshop will give dancers the creative agency to investigate how they like to move as individuals and in partnership, as well as exploring the aesthetic styles of a broad range of original dancers. Students will be given the tools to be intentional about their movements and physical responses to music, giving each dancer access to the stylings and musical execution they’ve always wanted.

Schedule:

11am-12pm: Body Awareness & Mechanics: Why We Do What We Do

12-1pm: Stylings Galore

1-2pm: Musicality

• Prerequisites: Comfortable in 6-count and 8-count Lindy Hop. Can execute a variety of swing outs at slow, medium, and fast tempos. (Completion of Intro to Swing, Lindy 1, and at least one series of Lindy 2, or equivalent)
