☀️ When: Saturday July 19th 9 AM - 3 PM
☀️ Where: Meet at the East Fork of the Red River trailhead: 36.606217, -105.384091
Higher clearance vehicles are recommended (Subarus, RAV4s, and the like will get you there) and 4WD is recommended if there's rain in the forecast.
☀️ What to Expect: A day filled with fun and trail maintenance on the beautiful singletrack section of the locally famous Lost Lake Loop. Work will mostly consist of general trail maintenance: improving drainage, cutting back encroaching vegetation, and benching (leveling) the trail. We'll be using tools like pick mattocks, McLeods, loppers, and hand saws.
The trail starts at about 10,000'. We'll be hiking about 4 miles roundtrip and our highest elevation will be around 10,700'.
☀️ What to Bring: Please wear long pants, sturdy hiking shoes/work boots, work gloves, and eye protection (sunglasses okay). Bring a day pack with plenty of food and water, sunscreen, layers, and rain gear (it's officially monsoon season!).
*We will be on the trail all day and not returning to the cars for lunch*
ECTA will provide the hard hats and tools.
