Card legality: Modern includes cards from all core sets and expansion sets released from Eighth Edition (2003) and Mirrodin onward, up to the present, except for cards that are banned in the format.

Deck construction:
- Minimum of 60 cards in the main deck (no maximum, but you must be able to shuffle without assistance).
- Up to 15 cards in a sideboard (optional).
- No more than four copies of any individual card in your deck and sideboard combined (except basic lands, which you can have any number of).
