Join Project Write Now for an intimate evening with acclaimed author Penny Guisinger as she reads from her powerful memoir Shift: A Memoir of Identity and Other Illusions, which was recently named as a finalist for the Maine Literary Book Award for Memoir.

In this special virtual event, Penny shares excerpts from her memoir that explore sexual and romantic fluidity, identity transformation, and the complexities of family against the backdrop of rural Maine.

Following the reading, fellow memoirist Laura Julier leads a thoughtful discussion with Penny about her creative process, the ten-year journey to publication, and how she approached writing about such personal experiences with honesty and vulnerability.

Participants have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session where Penny can share insights about her unique non-linear narrative structure, the integration of quantum physics and music theory as frameworks for understanding identity, and her advice for writers working on their own memoir projects.
