Ever been in a bar with a live band or at a party and wished you could dance properly with someone?
Here's your chance to learn five cool moves and some variations with our Four Week Foundation cycle.
Beginners, Level 1 will learn:
-the fundamentals of West Coast Swing and begin to understand the idea of lead and follow.
- the rhythm of the dance through the footwork; we'll include fun solo warm ups to help you get your feet travelling smoothly.
- the five patterns from which everything else grows.
Don't worry if you can't make week one, come along the following week and you can catch week one next time around.
Improvers, Level 2/3 (Elements)
This will contain closer focus on the various elements of the dance while expanding repertoire: rhythm, footwork, timing, musicality and styling.
It is recommended that you are comfortable with the five basics and some variations to attend this class.
Social
On the first night, you can join our WhatsApp group which is where we'll chat all things WCS, post events to attend and inspirational videos of the top pros across the world.
Schedule:
- 7.30pm Doors open and music on for social dancing
- 7.50pm Beginners, Level 1 class
- 8.40pm Short song social
- 8.45pm Improvers, Level 2/3 'Elements' class
- 9.30pm Social dancing
-10.00pm Close
Location:
- A purpose-built centre with beautiful sprung floor studios. We are in Ryeish Green Studio the first one by reception as you enter the building.
- By car:
School Green Centre in Shinfield 7 mins drive from Junction 10 on the M4. There is plenty of free parking at the front and behind the centre.

There is a bus from Reading Station called Leopard 3 which stops a 5 min walk away from the venue.
