Fort Boonesborough Basket Workshop

Join us on July 26th from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Berks History Center for a hands-on Fort Boonesborough Basket Workshop, led by our talented Education Curator, Vicky Heffner. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to create a beautiful basket inspired by those crafted in Kentucky, at the very site where Berks County's own Daniel Boone once lived. Participants will have the chance to replicate a basket made in the traditional oak style, reminiscent of the craftsmanship of early American pioneers. You will utilize a diverse array of colored reeds to add your personal touch and create a vibrant, unique basket. Vicky will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that both beginners and experienced basket makers can enjoy and complete their projects successfully.

The cost is $50 for BHC Members and $60 for Non-Members, with all necessary materials included in the workshop fee. Whether you are looking to enhance your crafting skills or simply explore a new hobby, this workshop promises an enriching experience filled with creativity, history, and community spirit. Spaces are limited, so ensure you reserve your spot early to take part in this engaging and educational event.
