What is the 12th Annual Cranksgiving Berks County??
It’s a food drive done completely by bicycle! Yes there are others but ask anyone, ours is a party!!
Show up at our Host Establishment, Victor Emmanuel II On Oct 25th...We will give you a list of grocery stores to hit, and item options to be purchased. You will head out on your bicycle and Collect as many items as you possibly can.
Over the last 11 years riders have carried in close to 40,000 lbs (20 Tons) of Food on on their bicycles and have raised tens of thousands of dollars for this great cause.
We will be utilizing the Large outdoor pavilion and grass field behind the restaurant. To keep this event fun and lively….There will be some basic awards given out in different categories like: Most items, biggest item, most stores visited, even challenge categories! Over the years the “Biggest Turkey” carried in on a bike award has become one of the most sought after of the day. Close behind that has become the best costume award!
Did you say costume? Yes, because we hold this event so close to Halloween when the riding weather is a bit nicer, it has become tradition to dress up in costume for this event. Check out the Facebook page for some pictures of the great costumes we see. All of the food collected at this event goes directly to our local Helping Harvest !! They have told us we are the “Most unique and exciting donation event in Berks”….and we do it all in a couple hours!
Once you are done riding, let us give back to you!! Our sponsors for this event will treat every donating rider to some Delicious Victors Pizza or Salad post ride. And yes, as always….BEVERAGES!!
