In honor of our heart baby, Kash Alvin Cryer! 💙🩵
FIRST THINGS FIRST, we know this is a good ways out, but we wanted to give Kash’s story & explain the reason behind this tournament. Also to give a heads up to mark your calendars. We are excited to make this a yearly thing. We wanted to keep it local in our hometown, our community (along with others) have been one giant blessing to us when it came to prayers or help in any way while our family went through the unexpected with our newborn baby boy.
SECONDLY, we are looking for local sponsors or anyone that would like to be a part of this, big or small. We are thankful for any and everything, even if it’s just a “good luck” 🤣.
Okay now story time…
At just 4 days old, we were waiting on our Kash man’s echo results on his heart, from the AMAZING Dr. Kattash after the pediatrician heard a murmur the day before. I sent taylor back to work so he wouldn’t be late and assured him it was probably nothing because a murmur was normal. Well lo and behold, they walk out to let me know they’re ready to talk, and immediately asked me where my husband went. After that, I knew it wasn’t going to be the news I wanted to hear. All my ears heard were “cannot be fixed without surgery” and instant tears. My newborn baby boy was going to need open heart surgery. He was diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot. A rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at birth. Tetralogy of Fallot defects cause oxygen-poor blood to flow out of the heart and into the rest of the body. After living in constant anxiety while watching his oxygen drop in the NICU, at 11 days old they flighted him to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. (We were given a one day notice). We packed whatever we could fit in bags & we immediately jumped in the car to be right behind him as soon as he took off in the helicopter. With the help of some sweet people, Kayla Gammage Crittenden and her hubby, they gave our names to the Local Heart Foundation. Mrs. Stacie Adams reached out with no hesitation to help financially and emotionally. They were there the entire 47 days our baby boy was in New Orleans, our shoulders to lean on! These people have truly been a blessing and they help families just like us! But this wouldn’t be possible without the help of people like you who are so kind to donate to foundations like this one! So after witnessing first hand how hard bills, gas, food, and everything else piles up, we wanted to give back to the foundation that helped us in a time of need. I can’t even begin to explain how thankful we are. So HERES TO GIVING BACK AND HELPING FAMILIES LIKE US. 💙🩵 We hope to see you & your teams in June!
