Yucca Leaf Soapmaking

Join Fort Selden Historic Site in Radium Springs, New Mexico, for a fun soap-making activity on Sun., June 22, 9 - 10 a.m. Participants will learn about the history of soapmaking, as well as the soaptree yucca plant, and other common yucca plants across the Chihuahuan Desert. Afterward, join Ranger Sage and make soap using the leaves from nearby soaptree yucca plants to take home.

This program is suitable for all ages and is included as part of general admission of $5 per adult. Free to children 16 years and younger, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and MNMF members.
