About the event

The Future of RF Spectrum at Gotham Expo 2025
Discussing where spectrum use for production and events stands and where it's headed with Henry Cohen of CP Comms and Peter Schneider.

About this Event

The wireless frequencies available for production use have been steadily shrinking for years; large ranges of spectrum have been licensed for exclusive use for mobile devices and even much of the existing space must be shared.

Henry Cohen of CP Communications and Peter Schneider of Gotham Sound will discuss what might be coming next for wireless regulations, how we help make sure the FCC understands the needs of production, and what you can do to get your wireless systems ready for any possibility.

We will allow walk-ins as space allows, but please RSVP to guarantee yourself a seat. The Expo itself and each individual seminar have a separate RSVP list, available from here.

Henry Cohen is director of spectrum affairs at CP Communications, responsible for FCC licensing and regulatory compliance, frequency coordination of high power and >1GHz deployments; and is senior RF engineer, designer, and consultant. He’s worked in professional audio and broadcast for nearly 45 years, with LMR and radio systems in general for over 50. For the past 20 years Cohen has been extensively involved with spectrum regulatory and licensing matters before FCC on behalf of the pro audio and broadcast industry including the 700 & 600 MHz auctions.

Peter Schneider is a founder and co-owner of Gotham Sound which provides audio and communications equipment for broadcast, major motion picture, and independent media producers throughout the United States. He is also an adjunct professor in the graduate department at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a decorated IATSE Local 52 production sound mixer, earning a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel for his work on Third Watch and a Cinema Audio Society Award for his work on The Sopranos.
