Matthew Ciarlo Memorial Poker Run hosted by the VFW Warriors Dist 2

All riders, families, and friends - Please join us in a memorial poker run fundraiser in honor of Matthew Ciarlo.
April 14, 1963 – August 9, 2023.
Matthew is the brother of one of our Warriors, Jon “Frack” Petree. Matthew’s family tells his story below:

“The Pueblo West VFW Post 5812 is hosting a poker run in honor of Matt Ciarlo on June 21, 2025. For those of you who did not know, Matthew was an avid Harley rider and enthusiast, putting thousand of miles down was one of his biggest joys in life. His passions included not just Harleys but anything with an engine that could be turned into something faster and louder. Matt spent a majority of his life in Southern Colorado raising his family. He was a hard working, intelligent, and a self-made man. Matt did not graduate High School or seek further traditional education, but through hard work and willingness to learn he was able to build upon his strong trade-oriented foundation and was able to operate a successful ranch, excavation company, amongst many other things. Matt believed in being the best you can be no matter what route life may take you and inspired many in his time, he understood that there is more than one route to seek further education and skills, because of this it is his family's wish to continue his legacy by creating the Matthew Ciarlo Scholarship fund. All proceeds will be available to local High School students that are attending vocational/trade school studies.”
