Obie Award-winning cabaret artist and Provincetown staple, James Jackson, Jr. (from Broadway’s Pulitzer & TONY Award-winning A Strange Loop), returns to celebrate Juneteenth with a two-night cabaret honoring the rich history and contributions of Black musical artists in Provincetown and featuring the music of iconic artists Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Grace Jones, and more.
This year’s Juneteenth Ptown event is sponsored by The Gifford House and adds the immense talents of Broadway’s Morgan Siobhan Green (Be More Chill) from the original national tour of the hit musical Hadestown. Obie Award-winning musician Elijah Caldwell, (Sir Elton John’s The Devil Wears Prada), featured regularly at famed NYC venues The Cutting Room, 54 Below, and Birdland Jazz Club, serves as music director.
