Join our summer stewardship interns on a guided nature walk, where science and art converge amidst gorgeous landscapes of the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve. We'll collect plant leaves and delicate summer blooms along our walk. Then, we'll head inside the Mountain Lakes House and practice the craft of plant pressing to preserve our botanical specimen. Celebrate biodiversity as you immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and the preserve's enchanting trails.
Land Steward Internship Program: This program will be led by our 2025 internship team. As a part of our Internship program, FOPOS provides three internships for students actively pursuing a degree or career in ecology, natural resource management, environmental education, or related fields. We hope you can join FOPOS as our interns guide us through winding trails adorned with verdant foliage, vibrant flora, and towering trees. Learn about the fascinating ecological systems that sustain life within, discover the hidden treasures of the preserve, and unleash your creative spirit.
