Pond Dipping

This is an opportunity for visitors of all ages to roll up their sleeves and enjoy a spot of pond dipping! Discover what lives below the watery depths of the raised ponds.

The sessions are just for fun and no previous knowledge is required.

Pond dipping sessions will run at Brockholes on:

Thursday 24th July 2025
Tuesday 5th August 2025
Thursday 28th August 2025
Pond dipping sessions are 45 minutes long and start from 10.15am. Sessions will start on time, so please arrive promptly at the raised dipping ponds (near the Lookout) to enable our staff to brief the groups so you learn how to dip safely and identify your finds.

Everyone going onto the pond dipping platform needs a ticket regardless of age (all adults and all children of all ages). Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (with a ticket). Places on our platform are limited to ticket holders only. (Prams will not be able to go onto the dipping pond area and will need to be parked nearby due to limited space.)

Please note you will be required to share equipment with other people in the group.

Please come dressed for the weather wearing sturdy footwear. If it rains the session will still go ahead!
