Writing the Blues workshop is a workshop rooted in the deep reflexive practices of critical autoethnography. It begins with activities to tap innate potentials in shamanic artistry (being a channel for artistic expression from subconscious and/or higher consciousness). We move through dialoguing practices to cultivate multiple perspectives from our life experiences. We pose probing questions to understand how the structures we inhabit either empower or disempower us. We stimulate our imaginative co-creative capabilities. We finish with a simple user-friendly approach to songwriting using preset blues song lyric models and standard blues progressions.
