Martin Lukáč vyráží do New Yorku v roce 2024. Neutíká – hledá. Opouští komfortní pozici uznávaného umělce, jehož díla jsou součástí důležitých sbírek umění, a míří do prostředí, kde je „jen dalším malířem“. Big Apple se pro něj stává výzvou – přístavem, který nabízí možnost opustit zavedené vzorce a vydat se na cestu transformace. Při pohledu na Lukáčovu práci v NYC je jasné, že město, které nikdy nespí, je pro něj zdrojem neustálé energie a nečekaných setkání. V chaosu městských ulic, mezi nesčetnými vjemy, se rodí nová imaginace. V prostředí, kde se prolínají různé přístupy a umělecké výrazy, začíná být zřetelné, jak pulsující rytmus města vstupuje do jeho malířské palety. Každý nový obraz je reakcí na tento svět, který neustále klade nové otázky.
Tento krok není pouze geografickou změnou. Pro Lukáče znamená New York zásadní posun v myšlení a tvorbě. Je to mentální revoluce – vstup do nového prostoru myšlení, tvorby a existence. Jeho abstrakce reagují na dynamiku a strukturu města. Lukáč sám poukazuje na odkrývání známých vrstev malby, jejich proměnu, míchání a znovu vrstvení. Tento proces není pouze estetický, ale i v tom, jak se dívá na své vlastní umění a na svět kolem sebe. Návrat k riziku je klíčovou podmínkou autenticity – umění, které není ohroženo, nic nehledá, a v tom spočívá kouzlo pohybu a nestálosti. New York boří jistoty: nekonečný pohyb, rozmanitost, extrémy, vrstvy historie pokryté novými příběhy. Architektura města inspiruje vize a sny těch, kdo touží po svobodě a dosažení nedosažitelného.

Martin Lukáč is going to New York in 2024. He is leaving the comfortable position of an acclaimed artist whose works are part of important art collections and heading to an environment where he is "just another painter". The Big Apple becomes a challenge for him - a port that offers the opportunity to leave established patterns and embark on a journey of transformation. Looking at Lukács' work in NYC, it is clear that the city that never sleeps is a source of constant energy and unexpected encounters. In the chaos of the city streets, among the myriad perceptions, a new imagination is born. In an environment where different approaches and artistic expressions intermingle, it becomes clear how the pulsating rhythm of the city enters his painterly palette. Each new painting is a response to this world, which constantly poses new questions.
This move is not just a geographical change. For Lukács, New York marks a fundamental shift in thinking and making. It is a mental revolution - entering a new space of thinking, creating and existing. His abstractions respond to the dynamics and structure of the city. Lukáč himself points to the uncovering of familiar layers of painting, their transformation, mixing and re-layering. This process is not only aesthetic, but also in how he looks at his own art and the world around him. The return to risk is a key condition of authenticity - art that is not threatened, not looking for anything, and therein lies the magic of movement and impermanence. New York breaks down certainties: endless movement, diversity, extremes, layers of history covered with new stories. The city's architecture inspires the visions and dreams of those who yearn for freedom and the achievement of the unattainable.
