This time i have prepared a very special trip to the Punkva Caves.
The Punkva Caves can be found in the Canyon of Pustý Žleb, and are one of the best-known subterranean areas of the Moravian Karst. The caves were discovered in stages in the years 1909–1933 by Professor Absolon’s group of speleologists.
The Moravian Karst is the largest and the most important karst area in the Czech Republic. It’s situated north of Brno and with its area over 100 km2 of Devonian limestones is a part of the Drahany Highlands. It’s divided into the northern territory - the Punkva system, the central part - Křtinský and Jedovnický Brooks and the southern territory formed by the Říčka system. This division is from the hydrographic point of view.
What to Expect
The visitors walk through mighty underground spaces and passages decorated with stalactites and stalagmites, as far as the bottom of the world-famous Macocha (=Step Mother) Abyss. The abyss is 138,7 m deep, with fascinating ground dimensions: 174 by 76 m. The foot walk is followed by a motor boat ride along the underground river Punkva. The ride includes the visit of the Masaryk´s Dome, one of the most beautiful caves of the Moravian Karst. The Punkva Caves are an extension of the longest cave system in the Czech Republic, the Amateur´s Cave, whose passages are over 35 km long.

• Child price is valid for children 10 years old and under. Student price is valid for students 26 years old and under with an ISIC Card
• The reservation may be cancelled or rescheduled if the minimum group size of 4 is not met.
• Times of departure and return are approximate and depend on the traffic. Delays can occur and will not result in a refund
