Family Promise
What Is It? How Can We All Help?
Parents with dependent children, who together are experiencing homelessness, represent the height of vulnerability. Not only do these parents have to meet the needs of their children, but they also need to find the time and resources to get back on their feet.
Family Promise operates under the model of shared hospitality, with a network of host congregations who take turns providing temporary housing and meals to families in crisis. These services are offered free of charge to the families. The support and facilities provided by this hospitality network allow families to focus on rebuilding their lives.
Community Presbyterian Church is hosting families the week of May 25-31!
Family Promise staff will be here on Thursday, May 22 at 5:30 p.m. to lead a training session for new or seasoned volunteers. If you have thought about serving but wish to know more or become better equipped before signing up, this training is for YOU. If you have served in the past but would like an update on the Family Promise program, this training is for YOU! In other words, All are welcome.
Training starts at 5:30 pm on Thursday, 5/22 in the fellowship hall at 417 N Williams St., Post Falls. www.pfcpc.org
